busy day

yesterday was a fun-filled day. first, my friend megan (libolt...okay deming, but i still call her libolt) was in town and came over to meet isabella. we went out for coffee and shopping and it was nice to catch up with a great friend.

then mike, isabella, and i headed to brian and meghan's for finley's first birthday party. she was an adorable birthday girl and my highlight was getting to see her walk! amazing.

then we headed to doug and darla's (aka dough and carla) to watch kaya while they went to a COTN fundraising event. we got some cute pictures of the girls hanging out. but my favorite part was putting kaya to bed. i sat down to rock her and sing to her (i'm sure my voice was ALMOST as pretty/soothing as her mom's) and she laid her head on my shoulder and snuggled in. i can't wait for isabella to choose to cuddle! it was very sweet.

ALSO, we got word that megan (reeves) was having regular contractions all day. i talked to her this morning and the contractions have kept up all night, so that little boy should be here in no time! (although, i'm not sure megs would describe her last day and a half as "no time").
for now, we're on high alert waiting for the next update!

in other news, we are trying out a new sleep/eating schedule with isabella. so far, not so good. the old schedule was to feed her for the last time at around 6pm, put her to bed around 7:30pm and feed her when she woke up in the middle of the night any time between 4 and 5:30am. then back to sleep until 8am. but, then a light bulb went off in our heads that instead of making her long stretch be from 6pm to 4am, we should feed her once more before we go to bed and have the stretch be from 9 or 10pm to 8am. so (if you're still following), the last three nights we've gotten her up to feed her around 9 and put her straight back down. the first night she slept till 8am! it was a dream. the last two nights however...

we're just hoping/praying that her little body needs a few days to get used to the new schedule.
